Current & Upcoming Projects
oe's next production - set to open in London's West End in the fall of 2008 - is Doctor Zhivago, a musical based on the iconic novel by Boris Pasternak and Acadamy Award winning Film by David Lean Doctor Zhivago. The show is directed by two time Tony Award Winning director Des McAnuff, music by Lucy Simon, book by Michael Weller, and lyrics by Michael Korie and Amy Powers. Producing partners include Broadway veterans Elizabeth Williams, Anita Waxman, CEO of RKO Pictures, Ted Hartley and Andrew Fell.
n addition to ongoing licenses and co-productions of Tony n' Tina's Wedding worldwide, upcoming projects currently in development include The Good Mother, a multi-media art installation incorporating film and live music, written by Karen Cellini.
Theater Productions
ince graduating from Hofstra University in 1982, with a BBA in marketing and minor in Psychology, Joe Corcoran's professional career began in the world of finance, trading and selling municipal bonds for the Wall Street investment banking firm, Bear Stearns.
In 1988, Joe left Wall Street and along with brother Dan, acquired the worldwide rights to produce, license and authorize the exploitation for what is now the second longest running show in off-Broadway history, Tony n' Tina's Wedding. Now in its 20th year running in New York, the show has had long running productions in Chicago, Las Vegas, Philadelphia, Minneapolis, Portland, Cleveland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Baltimore, Detroit, and Seattle. A national tour, beginning in 1999, and spanning 3 years, brought the show to an additional 16 US markets, as well as international productions in Tokyo, Fukuoka, Frankfurt, Stockholm, Amsterdam, and Sydney. The show continually plays in open ended and limited run productions all over the world
In 1994 Joe Corcoran, and brother Dan, produced the New York company of Late Nite Catechism (www.latenitecatechism.com). The "one nun sensation" received rave reveiws from the New York critics which allowed the show to run at St. Lukes Theater on West 46th Street for over 5 years. Late Nite Catechism continues to play around the country, currently under the control of Entertainment Events Inc, in touring productions, limited engagements and benefit performances.
In addition to producing Tony n' Tina's Wedding, Joe has produced numerous other theatrical productions in New York, and elsewhere, including but not limited to The Mayor's Limo, written by Mark Nassar, Finnegan's Farewell, by Kevin Alexander, Old Friends.com starring legendary TV and screen actress Pat Carroll and Patricia Connolly, The World Beyond The Hill: The Life and Times of W.E.B. Dubois, starring Tony Award Winning actor Chuck Cooper, at The Berkshire Theatre Festival, and Cafe a GoGo, the hit London musical presented in New York in 2003. Many of these shows are still be presented in theaters around the country.

n 1999, Joe Corcoran co-founded the online theater media company www.theatermania.com along with Darren Sussman.
Joe served as CEO of TheaterMania until 2001, when he left the company to continue producing. TheaterMania is currently being run by Gretchen Shugart, the companies CEO since 2001, and co-founder/president Darren Sussman. Joe continues to serve as the companies Chairman of the Board.
TheaterMania.com provides theater news, reviews, over 6,000 nationwide listings, marketing services, and streaming media. TheaterMania averages over 1 million unique users each month and over 500,000 registered members. The Gold Club is one audience development program that has played a significant role in building this audience. TheaterMania also offers a full-service ticketing system named www.ovationtix.com to over 900 venues. This past year Theatermania published its first reference book entitled "TheaterMania.com's Guide to Musical Theater Soundtracks." The book is available in bookstores throughout the United States.
Film
n 2003 Joe Corcoran executive produced the independent film, Seriously Twisted. Filmed in Housatonic, Massachusetts and the surrounding areas of the Berkshires. Seriously Twisted was recently sold to distribution company, Echelon/Newmark. The film is a psychological thriller about a celebrity couple, played by Mark Nassar and Karen Cellini, who are involved in a twisted fate when they try to cover up the murder of a teenage girl in a hit and run accident, on the way home from the Emmy Awards.
